Hi!
I am Pietra Galli, the maker behind Pê Ceramics and an interdisciplinary artist and educator based in London.
My pottery journey started in 2017, as an art student at Chelsea College of Arts when I spent most of my days in the ceramic studio. With time my interest grew and in 2021 I joined Mud Gang Pottery, where I started developing my own artistic functional pieces with an ethereal and naive style.
Since then, I have also developed a practice in education with Hampstead School of Art, Mud Gang Pottery and currently at Clapham Pottery. In 2022, I developed Amulet Making, a ceramic workshop inspired by my interest in the sensorial quality of ceramics and the power of objects to retain memories and emotions. The workshop has already travelled to Porto, London and Friuli Venezia Giulia at the invitation of IoDeposito.
Named after a family nickname, Pê (pronounced Peh) is an ode to my inner child. Taking inspiration from memories of my grandmother's eclectic garden in Brazil, with a mixture of wild vegetation, flowers, plants, herbs, vegetables and fruit, I make eclectic one-off pieces, using a combination of hand-building techniques, carving and throwing.
I work mostly with limited one-off pieces but I have a made to order selection as well. Please follow us on @entrance.to.the.garden to keep up with new additions to the website as it will be updated regularly.
